Mission of the Granite Falls Historical Society

  • We bring together people who are interested in the history of the Granite Falls area.
  • We display and teach that history in a manner that fosters better understanding of our city, county, and region, and helps to encourage appreciation of our heritage.
  • We preserve and interpret material that establishes or illustrates the history of the area. Media include audio and video tapes, paper, microfilm, and computerized archives.
  • We make all this material available, to the greatest extent possible, to all who wish to examine or study it.
  • We disseminate historical information through a variety of methods, including displays, museum openings, programs, lectures, and internet access, in order to awaken public interest, and to serve as one link in a network of heritage resources.
